About Us

The Hunter Skeptics is an incorporated organisation which meets six times a year on the first Monday of each even-numbered month, upstairs in the Cricketers Arms Hotel, corner Bull and Bruce Streets, Cooks Hill (Newcastle) NSW, 2324 Australia. Meetings commence at 7pm and finish by 9:30pm.

Interested members of the public are invited to either become a member or simply attend meetings as a visitor. Membership is free but attendance requirements must be met. Any person wishing to receive our newslettershould contact the secretary at: kevin.mcdonald@hunterskeptics.com.au Printed copies are mailed to anyone who does not have email. As with the Australian Skeptics Inc the principal aim of the Hunter Skeptics Inc. is to investigate claims of pseudoscience and the paranormal using the scientific approach of seeking the evidence.

It can be seen that we have much in common with other organisations broadly described as rationalists, humanists, secularists and atheists.

This website has an open forum, where anyone can contribute either questions or viewpoints to the discussion, and where responses to these by readers may be viewed.
